Comscore's January US Search Report Shows Searching Is Up 8.9PCT PDF Print E-mail

Americans conducted 10.5 billion searches at the core search engines, representing an 8.9 percent gain versus December.

There appeared to be small shifts if the stats, compered to the previous month, with Google up 0.1% to 58.5%. Yahoo's sites down 0.7% tp 22.%, Microsoft sites static at 9.8%, AOL gaining 0.3% to 4.9%, and ASK Network up 0.2% to 4.5%

Has it been looked at as Jan 06 vs. Jan 07. I sure would like to see those #'s.
Yeah but December was down as compared to November, for fairly obvious reasons. I'm sure search traffic is still growing, but a lot slower than 9% a month.
I think as people become more accustomed to searching, their searches are going to be more focused and the NUMBER of searches will drop, however the time spent on results will also drop meaning people are getting better at defining exactly what they're looking for.
